Create the bot on Discord

Every Discord bot starts as an application in the Developer Portal. That is what gives Realms its token and Client ID.

1. Create the application

1. Open the Discord Developer Portal and click New Application.
2. Give it a name (the name the bot shows) and confirm.
3. Under General Information, copy the Application ID — that is your DISCORD_CLIENT_ID.

2. Get the token

1. Open Bot and click Reset Token.
2. Copy the token — that is your DISCORD_TOKEN.

3. Turn on the intents

Still under Bot, in Privileged Gateway Intents, turn on:

• Server Members Intent
• Message Content Intent

4. Invite it to your server

1. Open OAuth2 → URL Generator.
2. Tick the bot and applications.commands scopes.
3. Under permissions, tick Administrator (or only what your modules need).
4. Open the generated link and pick your server.

Done: with the token and the Client ID, continue with Install on your computer or Host on a panel.
